Search Tips

  • Enter a word or phrase from Polish language in the Word or phrase text box and click Search button to look up the word or phrase in our dictionary.
  • Use wild card characters ? (matches one character) and * (matches any number of characters) to find specific words.
  • For example,
    • ab* finds words beginning with ab
    • *ba finds words ending with ba
    • *ab* finds words containing ab
    • b?ć finds words beginning with b and ending with ć with a single character in between.
    • b*c finds words beginning with b and ending with c containing any number of characters in between.

Jun 19, 2008 Searching the dictionary even easier! Use the checkbox below the main form to seach the whole dictionary database for the search word. This can help find Polish equivalent of given English word. Best wishes and enjoy using the site!

Apr 24, 2008 You can easily contribute entries. Whenever you search a term that is not found, you are given a link to add the term. Please sign in before contributing to retain your ownership of your contribution. Sooner, we'll make sure your contribution is highlighted prominently!

Apr 15, 2008 We are a step closer to our aim of providing the best dictionary. So far you weren't able to find English words, but now you can! Just type the English word in the search box and press Enter. If there is such a word in our database, the system will show the entries where this word appeared. Try searching love, for example, you will get milość and many others. Cheers!

Feb 18, 2008 Now users can view and sign our guest book. A more contribute link has been made avaialable to facilitate addition of new words and phrases not already in the dictionary.

Feb 16, 2008 New feature Did you mean? was added. Now you don't need to worry about wrong spellings. The dictionary will automatically suggest words that match closely to your seach word. However, please note that this feature is limited to one word search only. So use it, but not abuse it ;)
